Mike Davis Training

Following high school, Mike Davis spent fifteen years working with and training horses in Texas and Italy before returning to his grass roots in Iowa. Greatly influenced by Craig Johnson, Scott McCutcheon, the Christian mentoring of Doug Milholland, and others with whom he has worked, Mike encourages his clients of all abilities to tap into deeper levels of horsemanship. He challenges the rider to feel and fix the hip kicked out or the shoulder dropped in or a lean on the neck rein, ultimately for the rider to do the learning on the horse.

Mike has guided his non pros into the North Central Reining Horse Association year-end saddle circuit championships and reserve championships, and the NRHA Futurity finals. Like the people who have helped him along the way, Mike mentors interns from a local college, as well as assists clients in plotting the course needed to reach their goals. He knows that if his clients succeed in accomplishing their goals, then he will have the support and encouragement to accomplish his.

Mike has a deep commitment of giving back to others. Through his association with good friend Shawn Flarida the last several years, Mike continues his passion for the sport of reining and dedication to its growth.

"“I don’t care what their talent level is as long as they come out here and try."” - Mike Davis says of his clients.
